Nautilus

NT Connect services

Run Nautilus yourself, AGPL, free forever — or have NT Connect run it for you.

This page is the commercial path. NT Connect Holdings is the project's primary maintainer and the operator of the managed services that mirror the open-source distribution.

Implementation & installation

Per-vessel deployment engineering, end-to-end.

  • Per-vessel deployment — onboard K3s cluster, CloudNativePG, Cilium, ConnectOne PBX, signsync, Heimdall onboard module, NATS leaf node, IPTV origin cache, Kong gateway in DB-less mode.
  • Hardware procurement assistance — qualified smart-display SKUs (Samsung / LG / Philips), BLE wearable + gateway selection, NUC kiosks, NVIDIA L4 GPU sizing for onboard Heimdall, vendor-agnostic SIP endpoints.
  • Network commissioning — 10 Gbps onboard backbone, VSAT / Starlink integration, multicast-ABR optimization for older vessels.
  • First-vessel go-live — full dry-run, simulated cruise, regulatory acceptance walk-through.
  • Subsequent-vessel rollout — playbook-driven, accelerated by the Phase-1 vessel's hardening.

Integration services

Every existing operator has investments that aren't being ripped out on day one. NT Connect builds the bridges.

  • CRS adapters — Versonix Seaware as the first-class reference adapter; Infor Cruise on demand; custom adapters against the Domain 2 contract.
  • Legacy PBX retrofit — every vessel arrives with a PBX that isn't being replaced this year. NT Connect builds the bridge against the published Tier-C ship-PBX spec for any major vendor (Avaya, Cisco, Mitel, Alcatel, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH).
  • iTV head-end migration — moving from legacy IPTV vendors to Nautilus's HLS/DASH + EME stack, including content licensing handover.
  • Signage retrofit — extending or migrating from existing signage systems to the extended signsync platform.
  • Payment processor onboarding — Stripe Connect or Adyen for Platforms sub-merchant setup per tenant. Network token + account updater wiring.
  • Cabin GRMS integration — KNX / BACnet / DALI / vendor adapter authoring per vessel class, against the Domain 15 GRMS adapter contract (OQ-16).

Hosted / managed services

For tenants who want Nautilus without operating it.

  • Managed Quanta bus — multi-region, tenant-isolated cross-account JetStream sourcing, full SLA.
  • Managed ConnectOne PBX.
  • Managed CallCraft AI-voice.
  • Managed Heimdall — per-region SafeSpace + consolidation-region analytics with metadata-only cross-border flow.
  • Managed signsync CMS.
  • Managed CloudNativePG — Postgres clusters per service, Barman backups, point-in-time-recovery, monitoring.
  • Managed observability stack — Prometheus + Grafana + Loki, tenant-scoped dashboards.

All managed services run on tenant-pinned shore regions. Operational data stays in-region by default.

Compliance assistance

Privacy is the global default. Compliance is a service we deliver, not a checklist we hand back to the tenant.

  • Per-tenant DPIA authoring at onboarding.
  • Jurisdictional retention policy configuration — per-category retention mapped to flag state, port state, and tenant region.
  • Per-jurisdiction CSAM-reporting wiring — NCMEC (US per 18 USC 2258A), IWF (UK), BKA (Germany), eSafety Commissioner (Australia), INHOPE network.
  • Maritime legal pack covering flag-state, port-state, and tenant-region jurisdictions for the relevant cruise itinerary.
  • DSR runbook — operational support for guest-initiated access / rectify / erase / port / restrict / object requests.
  • Audit liaison — NT Connect supports the tenant during regulatory or customer-led audits.

Training & enablement

  • Operator admin training — CMS, fleet console, tenant configuration, signsync content management.
  • Crew app training — CrewApp role-based comms, mobile mustering, gangway operations, KDS workflow.
  • Integrator certification program — third-party integrators certified against the published Tier-C interface specs. Certification is portable across tenants.
  • Developer onboarding — for tenant in-house engineering teams and contributing partners.

Hardware partnership program

NT Connect runs a partnership program for hardware that integrates with Nautilus.

  • Smart-display vendors — Samsung, LG, Philips qualified SKUs for cabin iTV and signage.
  • BLE wearable + gateway vendors — Domain 16 location intelligence.
  • IPTV content partners — Swank Maritime and equivalents.
  • Telehealth clinician network partners — Domain 16.
  • SIP endpoint vendors — qualified handsets for cabin and crew telephony.
  • Gangway scanner vendors — qualified Android tablets with RFID/NFC/QR readers.

Partnerships include co-marketing, joint go-to-market motions, and Tier-C conformance verification where applicable.

How the OSS path and the commercial path coexist

We are explicit about this because the cruise industry is rightly suspicious of "open core" theater:

  • Same code. AGPL and commercial ship the same software. There is no "premium AGPL feature gate."
  • No telemetry phoning home from the AGPL distribution by default.
  • Tier-C specs are CC BY 4.0 — anyone can implement them. The managed services exist because operating them at scale is a real job; they don't exist because the AGPL distribution is crippled.
  • Audit reports for Tier-A primitives are public.

The commercial path is for tenants whose distribution model or contractual environment doesn't fit AGPL — or who simply prefer to outsource operations. It is not the path to "real Nautilus."
